Part 3- Delaware!

Okay, so I really don't feel likeh explaining the whole rest of the trip, because I think you get the picture from the first two posts, but over the next few days we made some awesome friends from New Jersey, New Mexico, and Texas and it was an awesome time. Allie and Ali were ninth in the nation of about 100, Ansel was #2, Matt was fifth in his room (only the top two from each room make the final 14), and Jenna Coe was tenth in her room.

Right after history day, I got to see my sister and brother in Lancaster and Strasburg, Pennsylvania and then went to my sister's beach house in Broadkill Beach Delaware. Broadkill Beach is such an awesome little town! Its located right outside of the big resort area of Rehoboth Beach and is considerably less crowded than many other parts of coastal Delaware, but it was still awesome. The picture below is of Broadkill's only business,  general store, and the other picture is the my nieces and Ansel trying to kayak in the bay. I also threw in a picture of her A-frame beach house, which has a backyard leading right into the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge. On the ocean side of Cape Henlopen, the waves were HUGE and we though we were going to die several times. It was a great time.

  1. Wow! This is awesome! I love the pictures! The NHD success is fantastic. You know, I have never been to D.C. -- my husband and I are considering going later this summer. Seems like a must-do for a U.S. History teacher!
